About the Director: Dr. Samantha J. Corrion
After growing up in Huron County and graduating from Laker High School in 1997, Corrion attended Central Michigan University as a piano and voice major earning a Bachelors in Music Education with a major in Music Education and a minor in Choral Conducting. Furthering her education, Corrion attend The American Band College (ABC) through Southern Oregon University and earned a Masters in Music in Instrumental Conducting. She has earned a Doctorate in Education in Organizational Leadership through Grand Canyon University.
Starting her career at Lakers in 2001, she was able to travel the United States. In 2005, Corrion served as the Band/Choir Director for Berea High School in Greenville, SC. Starting in 2006, she was able to work for Todd County Schools in Elkton, KY as the High School Band Director and lead the Marching Band to the State Finals. Due to family and personal reasons, she headed back to Michigan, and worked for Unionville-Sebewaing Area Schools for 3 years as the K-4 Elementary Music, 7-8 Band, 5th grade Band, Drama, Choral Director. Corrion returned to Lakers in 2010 to make her rotation complete and currently serves as the 5-12 Band, 7-12 Choir, Elementary Theater and Strings teacher
She lives with her 3 daughters, Cheyenne (11), Sheridan (8), Grayson (5), an Australian cattle dog named Blueberry, and two horses: Milo and Flashy Pat
